Our previews are always short and sweet. Expect lots of pictures and maybe some commentary… anything more though and it becomes a review, which this isn’t.
I received my Triple Aught Design SERE Pouch 1 on February 3rd, 2016 and couldn’t wait to get it open. I opted for the Standard pouch as I didn’t really need the $80 worth of kit they were including in the other version. There have been pictures and versions of the TAD SERE Kit released online for years but this is the first time they’ve actually offered it for sale.
The front of the pouch features a small area for a Ranger (or Dog) Eye with a ITW G-Hook to keep it closed. It feels really compact when it’s all closed up.
The G-Hook is connected to some nylon that wraps around the pouch and both securely close and tighten it to make it more condensed.
Removing the included TAD Ranger Eye shows the Velcro underneath.
To open the pouch all you need to do is slide the ITW G-Hook out from the attachment point that the Ranger Eye is covering.
With the G-Hook out of the way both pieces are free and now there’s just a piece of elastic between you and the inside of the pouch.
Flipped it over reveals the Made in USA and Cordura labels which are both hidden under the nylon strap.
Just need to slip the elastic off…
…and unroll the two folds in the pouch then…
…lift the top up and you’re inside! The nylon creation with shock cord on the right there is so that you can quickly grab whatever it’s attached to when the pouch is closed.
The back of the pouch features the Triple Aught Design logo which covers the MOLLE attachment point.
When in stock the Triple Aught Design SERE Kit 1 is available on their website for $29.

I was looking at it and thinking is it necessary of this pouch for small items, even for E&E.
Interested to know what’s the content and how you carry it with you.
