D’Anna joins us in episode 064 to talk about being a new member of the GRT community. She recounts what it was like to find rucking, how she got her feet wet (and then some at her first event), and what she recommends to people who are new to GORUCK and rucking. This is a really fun interview because we’ve never had someone on to talk specifically about what it’s like being new to the scene. We’ll be putting together a “Rucking Basics” guide based on what we talked about in this episode so expect to see that released soon!

this is a great podcast! I met D’Anna at the LA 12 mile star course. My first ruck event was the Battle of the Bulge integrated tough/light event. I had no idea it was going to be the tail end of the tough event and I was traumatized. Then I did the 12 mile star course about a month after, with D’Anna and the CaRuckpublic teams all told me that I need to pull the trigger again and do another light event. I am gearing up for the GORUCK Vietnam War Light Challenge.
I’m so glad the LA 12 went well for you!!! The team can make all of the difference :) I hope that upcoming Light goes well too!
D’Anna was a great guest speaker. She really is helpful with new Ruckers. I met her on the California Ruckpublic club page on Facebook. D’Anna and Zackary were super friendly and answered all my newb questions. Then D’Anna shadowed a light event and invited me to show how events work. She was wonderful at explaining it all to me.
Thank you Brian for all you do to explain and review the equipment and for the podcasts!
I really appreciate it Bill! I hope to meet her in person someday :)
One of the best podcasts yet! Sharing with new members of the community!
Awesome thank you so much!
