Description
The SOURCE Tactical WXP 2L bladder is younger sibling of the popular WXP 3L bladder. Not everyone needs 3 liters of water… that’s nearly 10 lbs of extra weight. If you’re more a 2 liter person then you should be rucking with a 2 liter bladder to save on space. Source hydration bladders are time tested and one of the most popular bladders you will see at a GORUCK event.
When it comes to GORUCK events I’ve had weird luck with bladders. The first I bought was a CamelBak and it broke on me during my first event. The second I bought was an MSR Dromedary 4L which has a tendency to leak everywhere. The third bladder I bought was from Source and (back in 2012) and it’s still working to this day. I’ve replaced the hose on it once but that was it.
Between 2012 and present I’ve bought a number of Source bladders to keep around for guests but I’ve never had to replace one. I consider myself pretty lucky in this regard but, because of that, Source is the bladder I recommend for GORUCK events.
If this is your first bladder purchase and your backpack has webbing then don’t forget to pick up an ITW GrimLoc. You won’t regret using one keep your hydration hose in check.

Used the 2L this month in my first GORUCK event, the Veteran’s Day Tough in New Orleans. It was sufficient; the weather was cool. I also have the 3L. “Source” is the way to go in hydration bladders.

A solid smaller bladder for smaller rucks. Works great in a Bullet.

The 2L is obviously a smaller version to the 3L. It is perfect in a 10L or 15L Bullet Ruck. For a small day bag, it is perfect. I wouldn’t recommend using it an event because you really need a 3L bladder, but for a casual walk around town or campus, this is the way too go. Much less weight and bulk. Same quality as other Source products.
