Heather Williams and Kit Klein join us to talk about the collaboration between Travis Manion and GORUCK on the 9/11 Heroes Run Ruck Division. This is an incredibly awesome partnership and I really can’t wait to see where it goes. Also… there’s a discount code for the event in this interview!
Every 9/11 Heroes Run event in 2018 will have a ruck division and, if you register for that division, you’ll receive a special Travis Manion GORUCK patch. Check out the Travis Manion website and find a 5k in your area! If there isn’t one and you’ve got roughly 10 or so ruckers together hit up Heather ([email protected]) and she’ll give you the details on the Shadow Events.

Apologies for the basic question, but is the rucking division expectation that we ruck rather than run? I have a few friends signed up for our local event, and I don’t want to surprise them with a weighted run that morning. Thanks!
I personally was planning to carry a 30# plate and our team American flag and look for a 16:00-17:00 minute pace. Am I going to embarrass myself out there?
Brian ADR says
At least in 2018 it was a ruck and I assume in 2019 it will be as well. 16:00 – 17:00 pace should be solid and you won’t be embarrassing yourself or screwing over your friends with a surprise ruck run. There’s *almost* nothing worse than a ruck run haha.

Great! Thanks! I am catching up on several back episodes of the ADR podcast now and loving it. Will be leaving a review soon if you promise not to read it! :-)

Looking forward to the Tempe event next month! Signed both me and my kid up for the ruck division!

Awesome!!! Trying to figure out if the cadre for the Seattle GORUCK event will endex around the start of this… or if I should just sign up for the virtual event. Decisions decisions…
