GORUCK has just released two new colorways for their I/O Cross Trainers. The Black + Military Olive and Black + Midnight Navy are now available in sizes ranging from 8 to 14.
I’ve said this numerous times but I wasn’t the biggest fan of the original I/O Cross Trainers. They weren’t bad but they didn’t feel as great as the MACV-1 boots. I didn’t mind wearing them around but didn’t enjoy them for longer rucks.
Version two of the shoes felt, in my opinion, one hundred times (if not more) better. It’s hard to describe what they changed but they just feel right on my feet. Version two I actually really, really like.
The first two colors of the I/O Cross Trainers were very similar: blackout and black + gum soles. The new variations add a nice touch of color that look even better than I expected.
The embroidered spearhead at the back of the shoe, the sides, and the logo on the tongue all feature the accent color. The military green have a black sole while the navy blue have a gum sole. Between the two I’d say my preference is towards the military green… something about that shoe just looks really nice.
At $135 the GORUCK I/O Cross Trainers aren’t cheap but they’re built well and they handle a good ruck. I’ve already got the newer version in black but I find myself wanting to grab that military green.
I also want those new brown leather MACV-1 boots but I really don’t need more footwear. Have any thoughts on these two new colors? Have thoughts on the I/O Cross Trainers in general? Let me know in the comments!
