GORUCK Black Friday 2017
So far Black Friday 2017 has brought discounted packs, new colors, and restocks of crowd favorite colors. We’re excited to see how this week shapes up!
Discounts
The most notable discount of the sale is the GORUCK GR1 at $50 off. Jason had said previously that he wasn’t planning on discounting the GR1 often so seeing it on sale here has turned into somewhat of a rare occasion. The largest discount is the GORUCK GR2 which is a solid $96 off for the Black 34L version.

New Colors
The 2017 Black Friday sale brought two new colorways to select GORUCK packs. The GR1 appeared in both Camo Green (above) and Arid in 26L sizes. The Bullet Ruck showed up in Arid (below) in the now-standard 10L size.
Color Restocks
There have been some notable color restocks! A few weeks ago we saw the resurgence of Multicam which was awesome… and now they’ve brought back Java and Woodland Camo to select pieces of gear as well.
What’s Next
GORUCK has been teasing a little that there may be additional gear drops throughout the week. We’re hopeful that Tiger Stripe will somehow still make an appearance and it will be a Thanksgiving miracle. Until then hopefully you enjoy these deals!
What got me was the bundles added late on Tuesday. Wish I’d known, I would have had a Wire Dopp for $10, and that Carry On bundle is the exact setup I got in January!
Hah! Same boat here! I grabbed both the transport cubes this morning mere hours before the bundle was released… such is life sometimes. That Carry On bundle is great! All items that have a TON of use.
I picked up a 60# sandbag and filler… waiting/hoping for the wind jacket to go on sale though!!! :)
Can’t go wrong with the sandbag! The 60# is the one I use the absolute most… it’s super versatile and you can really load it up if you’re using it as a weight to carry. Definitely a solid purchase!
Does the black GR1 26L ever go on sale? I was waiting to buy but that’s the only color without a discount. My current backpack is fine but I thought I’d pick up a GoRuck too. Guess I’m holding off again.
Jason had previously mentioned (can’t recall where, possibly Reddit) that he didn’t want to discount the Black GR1 again. They even explicitly stated on the sale page that it wouldn’t be on sale this week. I’ll see if I can find the comment but I know a lot of people where hoping for one!

No problem and glad to help! I had remembered Jason saying something about how the company was built on the Black GR1 and because of that he didn’t want to put a discount directly on the pack again. I know there were a lot of people who were hoping for the Black GR1 to be discounted too…
I can already hear the rage comments about releasing new camo design that isn’t tiger stripe. I’m also not a fan of having the bait-and-switch pricing. $299 GR2 got me all excited, then I change the color and Womp-Womp. :(
The Arid threw me for a loop! We have Tiger Stripe Tuesdays and I’ve honestly never heard anyone ask for an Arid pack. I mean… they look nice but if someone had said GORUCK will release two new colors and one will be a camo pattern guess what they’ll be my first guess would have been Tiger Stripe and my probably 30th guess would have been Arid.
The GR2 was a tricky one as well… only one version is $299 (although it is the version I like the most) but that was it. Thanks so much for leaving your thoughts!
