The GORUCK Star Course kicked off in Denver, Colorado on August 31st, 2018 at 9 pm from Rosamond Park. If you are not familiar with the GORUCK Star Course it’s a 50+ mile navigation and rucking event. Teams are given a “hit list” generally at the beginning and need to plan a way to hit all the points and make it back to the start within 20 hours.
To prove that teams made it to the locations they need to post on Instagram and both tag @goruckstarcourse and use the hashtag #goruckstarcourse. This method is really fun because it allows people at home to follow the teams along and see how everyone is doing.
If you have some free time tonight consider following these Denver, CO Star Course teams on Instagram (listed below in alphabetical order) and showing them some love.

It can be lonely out there rucking in the morning and I’m sure they would appreciate the support! We’ll continue to add teams to the list as we find them however if you know of any more leave them in the comments and we’ll get them added and show them some love.
Good luck to everyone at the 2018 GORUCK Star Course in Denver, Colorado… you got this!
I followed all different teams through Instagram. You can see in their faces that they are all having fun despite of the hardships. Congrats to all the Teams.
Thanks for the send off- we appreciate your support Brian!
It was a great event in the mile high city! My daughter and I (team_shortstride) completed the event in 18 hours 7 minutes having hit all waypoints for a total of 51.7 miles. We couldn’t stay until the very end (there were still two teams out when we left) but it looked like the completion rate was very high. When we came in, there was only one team that had dropped. Not sure about number of individuals on teams that had to call it quits, but all in all, sounded like a high completion rate.
Shout out to Mocha Mike, our Cadre for the event and all around awesome dude! And thank you to all the volunteers who stayed up all night offering up bananas, water and gatorade at some very out of the way spots!
And to all the GORUCKers out there who showed up for the challenge, thanks for your smiles and fist bumps along the way! Good times!!!
All the best,
Paul and Sky (a.k.a. Team_shortstride)
Team_shortstride!
Thanks so much for leaving this! It was a blast following everyone along and it looks like the completion rate was pretty high. I didn’t notice too many teams that lost people through the night… you’ve got a tough group out there!
So glad to hear you two did well and that’s pretty awesome you were a father / daughter team! Great job again and you’ve gotta be proud :D
