When Jason (founder of GORUCK) joined us on the podcast he mentioned the 50 Miler and that he could see GORUCK executing them around the country. Fast-forward to February, 2018 and GORUCK announces the very first Star Course… a 50+ mile ruck in Washington, DC.
We held our breath that GORUCK would bring the Star Course to more cities in 2018 and, after selling an incredible number of entries, it appears that they have finally done that. GORUCK just announced that ten additional Star Course events will occur across the United States in 2018 which is something we are incredibly excited about. It’s funny… as GORUCK added one new Star Course to the website roughly every ten minutes or so. Seattle was one of the last cities to be announced and we were getting VERY nervous that it wasn’t going to happen.
One unique aspect to the Star Course, besides the fact that you’re rucking 50 miles, is that each patch represents the city that you rucked in. As far as we can tell each Star Course patch is individualized to the city that the event takes part in with the skyline embroidered over the GORUCK logo.
The current plan is to be at the Seattle, WA Star Course in August… if GORUCK is coming to our city we’ve got to be there to support. Is a Star Course coming to a city near you? Are you planning on taking part in one of these events? Let us know in the comments!

I’m signed up with two other old dudes for the 001 event in Washington. I have a stress fracture now from overdoing a ruck, but I’m hoping to heal enough to gut out the course on 5/18.
