GORUCK released their midweight fabric (previously called the heavy fabric) earlier in 2018 for the Simple Pants. They came out with the Challenge Pants Midweight shortly after that and now have created a midweight version of their Simple Windbreaker.
The GORUCK Simple Windbreaker Midweight was released in sizes small through extra extra large in black, ranger green, grey, and coyote on 1/30/2019. It comes in at a price point of $145 which, although expensive, falls in line with their other apparel.
I’ve owned the Challenge Pants Midweight and Simple Pants Midweight for months now. In addition I have been lucky enough to have used them at multiple GORUCK events. One thing that impressed me was how much warmer they were from their counterparts. Although I haven’t gotten them wet too often they dried fairly quickly after the 2018 Veteran’s Day GORUCK Tough.
The GORUCK Simple Windbreaker Midweight features nearly everything you would expect to find on a windbreaker: front pockets, a nice zipper, quick drying, and wind blocking fabric. What they don’t include is a hood which may or may not be a deal breaker for you. Personally, living in the greater Seattle area, a hood is a well received feature.
If you want the GORUCK Simple Windbreaker Midweight you can grab them off GORUCK’s website for $145. Although not cheap they do come with a lifetime GORUCK SCARS warranty and free shipping within the USA.
Will you be picking up one of these windbreakers? We’d love to hear the feedback in the comments below!
