Due to a very recent tragic event GORUCK has made an amendment to their required gear list for all Good Livin’ (Light/Challenge/Heavy/Selection) events. To increase the safety of the participants there are now a few extra items that will need to be brought along to your event. Thankfully, these new items are in the market of safety and accident prevention instead of a dose of extra Good Livin’.
Headlamps and either a reflective PT belt or strobe light are now required gear to bring with you to the starting point. For the past few months we have been selling the HVS-V from Todd Forkner (Gear N8tion). We have recently received numerous questions if the HVS-V will satisfy the new PT belt requirement. After reaching out to GORUCK we are excited to say that the HVS-V is officially supported by them as a reflective PT belt that meets their requirement.
For headlamps you can check out the reviews I wrote for the Princeton TecEOS and Petzl TacTikka Plus which are both good options. GORUCK sells the Petzl TacTikka Plus and Amazon sells the Princeton TecEOS (as well as the Petzl).
The current colors (Green and Orange) of the HVS-V have been flying off of the shelves. We just received another shipment of 14 orange ones yesterday and they’re selling quickly. Don’t worry… Todd is making more of them and there may even be some new colors that will be released in the future.
