GORUCK’s Bridging The Gap event involves a weekend stuffed full of GORUCK activities. The June, 2016 Seattle weekend brought War Stories & Free Beer (WSFB), Rucking University (RUCK U), Brats, and Kill That 5K (KT5K). Each GORUCK Bridging The Gap weekend brings different events but, for the most part, there’s a WSFB, a RUCK U course, and a KT5K.

Friday brought GORUCK’s War Stories & Free Beer event. Entry was only $10 and and 100% of that went to Team RWB so going to this was an absolute no-brainer. For the full write-up on this awesome event check out the Seattle 6/2016 War Stories and Free Beer AAR.

GORUCK’s Bridging The Gap weekend continued on to Saturday with three unique events. The first of the day was Rucking University which involved courses on the history of rucking and how to ruck successfully. For a complete write-up on the event check out the Seattle 6/2016 Rucking University AAR.
Rucking University ended with a GORUCK Light event where we were able to apply the teachings from the morning courses. For a full write-up on Rucking University and the GORUCK Light associated with it check out the Seattle 6/2016 Rucking University AAR.
After Rucking University it was off to GORUCK’s Kill That 5K event. The 5K was the finishing touch of the weekend and was a nice, relaxing, ruck around Green Lake. For a full write-up on the KT5K then check out the Seattle 6/2016 Kill That 5K AAR.
The only event I did not participate in over the weekend was GORUCK’s Brat event… and that was only because I’m too old for that. Our foster son is two years old so he was definitely too young to participate otherwise there would definitely have been another AAR for that.
Conclusion
GORUCK’s Bridging The Gap weekend is filled with activities for every rucker out there. It’s a great way to get introduced to any rucking groups in your area as well as support some awesome charities. If there’s one coming to a city near you soon I would highly recommend looking into it and signing up for part or all of it.
