Smashing limits one brick at a time… I really can’t think of a more fitting statement to summarize training for and completing a GORUCK event. There are so many limits that people impose on themselves or feel that they have and there’s nothing like a GORUCK Challenge to smash those limits to pieces. I remember when training up to my first event everyone said it would be impossible and that there was no way I could do it. Showing up to the start point was one of the most nerve-racking moments I’ve ever experienced. It was easily on par with the butterflies I had when I started the “initiation” for my old gym’s Muay Thai Fight Team. In both occurrences I came out on top and, to me, there is no better feeling in the world. There’s just something about taking those limits that have been imposed on you and smashing them.

In addition to the great quote you can not beat the rucking Mario image… it’s just too perfect. A great message brought to life with a very nostalgic image (for those of us who played video games) makes for one of my new favorite patches. The patch style is very interesting because it’s not your typical embroidered patch. It’s almost if the design was printed on cloth and that cloth was sewn onto the patch material. Either way it’s very detailed and I’m excited that this patch is real.
