The Hook & Loop Society is a creation coming from the team at ITS Tactical. It’s an online community dedicated to the quality and design of morale patches. The community has been established as a sub-community (Subreddit) on the very popular website Reddit. Instead of using their own site, Facebook, or a Forum, ITS Tactical chose a private Subreddit to keep the focus of the group on content and to prevent everyone’s feeds from getting cluttered or becoming a massive advertisement. I’m a huge fan of this because I’m already a member of a large number of Facebook groups on patches and really don’t need another. They want it to be about sharing news, patch collections, and having a meaningful discussion about the quality and design of morale patches.
Last Saturday (9/27/2014) a mystery package showed up from ITS Tactical. I wasn’t sure what to expect when opening it… every now and then, as a Life Member, we get bonuses so I figured it was something related to that. I was wrong.
The package contained a letter (sealed with wax) and a Hook & Loop Society patch. The letter contained the details of the group as well as a link to get signed up on the Subreddit. I’ve used Reddit for a number of years and this Subreddit is definitely one of the more positive ones I’ve been a member of. I judge positivity based on the number of posts that get down-voted (imagine a dislike button on Facebook) compared to the ones up-voted.
If you’re interested in joining the Hook & Loop Society you can check out their website which details how to get in.
