This week’s “patch of the week” is the GORUCK Mars patch. If I recall correctly the GORUCK Mars patch was thought up by a GRT who works for NASA and wanted to raise funds for the GBF. I say “recall correctly” because this was one of the first patches I ever bought which was maybe 2 or so years ago. I can’t even recall who the GRT was who I bought it from so unfortunately I can’t supply any information on if/where you could pick one up. If someone knows the contact info and if these are still available please post a comment and I’ll get in touch with them.
Come March 2038 we’ll be flying off to the ever beautiful Olympus Mons on Mars for a GORUCK Challenge. Olympus Mons is the second tallest mountain in the solar system and is about three times as tall as Mount Everest. Not only is it super tall but it’s also a volcano. I’m not going to try and pretend to be smart here… I have no clue what a Mars volcano is capable of but I’m sure it’s awesome and I’m sure we’ll have a fun time. What better spot to spend a nice vacation than a Volcano on Mars? I know this trip will be expensive so thankfully we have until 2038 to save up for it.
After doing a couple weeks of serious patches I thought it would be fun to throw in something like this for today. Don’t forget to mark the whole month of March (2038) off on your calendar for this once in a lifetime event! Also, you may want to have all of your affairs in order before the rocket lifts off… something tells me this trip will be special.
