The Caduceus symbol is one of the more interesting symbols that has been used in the military. It was added to the uniform of medical officers in 1902 and has since been used as a medical symbol up to present day. In truth, Caduceus is the symbol of commerce and the Rod of Asclepius is the true medical symbol. I haven’t been able to pin down exactly why they decided to use Caduceus instead of the Rod of Asclepius except for the fact that Caduceus looks 1000x more badass. Either way this is one of the generally accepted medical symbols and really look great as a patch.
This patch is from Maxpedition and is a part of their new PVC line of patches. The size of this patch is huge and the detail is awesome. I’ve been very impressed recently with PVC patches in general and this is a great example of a good one. If you’d like to purchase it you can do so here.
