Christmas is over and here we are in that week before the New Year celebration. The good thing about this week is that it has allowed for a continued focus and push for the 1,000 Miles Charity Challenges event. Sign-ups keep rolling in and it’s incredible seeing people set high bars and expectations for themselves!
I am incredibly excited about the 1000 Mile Challenge for many reasons. First off it will be the longest Charity Challenges event to date which should be fun. The only regret with the event is that it’s not named the Charity Challenges Distance Challenge or something similar. Calling the event the 1,000 Mile Challenge is akin to calling the Sit-Up Challenge the 30,000 Sit-Up Challenge. It’s not just for people who want to complete 1,000 miles… there are patches at the 300 and 700 mile markers as well.
I am already working on my New Years resolution which is to get better at public speaking. One of my least favorite activities is public speaking which extends to being interviewed. I’ve already been interviewed for my first podcast (which will hopefully be released 1/3/2017) so that’s a start. Up until now I have turned down any similar requests so hopefully we are off on the right foot. Here’s to making even more progress in 2017!
Post your New Year resolution in the comments if you are making one. If you don’t make New Year resolutions then maybe post why that is. Here’s to a safe and fun New Year celebration!

1,000 miles is my goal! As of this writing, I have 295 miles in (mostly rucking) and I am a bit ahead of the pace I initially set for myself. I’m also participating in all of the Charity Challenges “live” challenges, the current one being the Lunch Challenge. These are great programs and I thank you so much for organizing and executing these for us. Each one has helped me to get better in performing their focused movement–squats, push-ups, sit-ups (all of which I completed 30,000 reps on) and now lunges. Great idea, great cause and well executed!

Thanks so much for the good words! Always trying to find a way to make the events more fun or add some extra something special in there to get people excited :)
