It is Thanksgiving day and as promised by GORUCK even more new products are being released. I knew the shoulder bags were coming but I had no idea about the 5L and 15L Bullet Rucks or the watch cap.
Bullet Rucks
In addition to lowering the price of the renamed Bullet 10 ruck GORUCK has released 5L and 15L versions dubbed the Hydro Bullet and Bullet 15 respectively. The Hydro Bullet is GORUCK’s smallest ruck and was created to fit a Source Hydration bladder and a few extra small belongings. It seems like the perfect ruck if you’re looking for something to take along on a bike ride or run.
The Bullet 15 is marketed for the GORUCK Light event and for traveling without a laptop. In this day and age of tablets lots of people don’t travel with laptops anymore. If I were fancy enough to have one I’m sure I’d be leaving my laptop at home when I travel. One of the other nice things about the Bullet 15 is that it comes with 4 rows of webbing on it like the GR2.
Shoulder Bags
According to Jason the shoulder bags are the number one most requested piece of gear in the history of GORUCK. First things first I am not a big fan of messenger bags… in fact I never use them. That being said I really like the boxy aspects of this bag. I could see myself using this for work especially when I travel so that I could leave my ruck back at the hotel. In addition the shoulder strap can be removed and the bag can be used like a brief case which is appealing. I need to look into the two different sizes a bit more but this is a bag I would really like to get. THe 15L version is $195 ($156 if bought when signing up for an event) and the 20L version is $205 ($165 when signing up for an event.)
Watch Cap
What’s a watch cap? I had no clue until I read the description on their website. The difference between a watch cap and a beanie is that the watch cap has its fabric doubled over so that your ears are covered aka warmer. The watch cap comes in Black, Light Gray, and Navy, is made in the USA, and features a 2″ x 3″ patch area sewn on it. The caps are $22 regularly but only $17.60 if you buy one when signing up for an event.
