Just before the year ends GORUCK is here with two new products: the GORUCK Shemagh and the Heritage GR1 Field Pocket.
GORUCK Shemagh
Back in 2012 or 2013 someone in the GORUCK SkyMall (now Ruckmall) Facebook group created a run of GORUCK Shemaghs. They sold out and those have been floating around for the past 5 or so years. We’ve got two here and they’re pretty cool.
GORUCK has finally released their own official Shemagh by partnering with Combat Flip Flops. Combat Flip Flops has been partnering with a lot of companies for their Afghanistan made Shemaghs and it’s cool to see GORUCK get in on it.
From the looks of the pictures there’s no actual GORUCK logo in any of the Shemaghs… which I find a little odd. It would have been cool to see the spearhead woven throughout like on the custom made SkyMall shemaghs.
The GORUCK Shemagh is currently available for $20.
Heritage GR1 Field Pocket
The Heritage GR1 Field Pocket is a waxed canvas (with leather accents) field pocket meant to accompany the Heritage GR1.
The handle on the field pocket is leather which matches the padded handle on the heritage GR1.
In addition the internal label is printed on leather which follows along with the design choices made on the heritage GR1.
The outside of the field pocket includes a leather GORUCK logo patch sewn directly into the pouch.
The GR1 Heritage Field Pocket retails at $105 and is available, according to GORUCK, in limited quantities.
Grey Crusader says
I sprung for one of each of the GORUCK/Combat Flip-Flops Shemaghs in both black and grey–and I don’t regret the spend for a second. They are easily the best-made shemaghs I’ve ever owned. Just the size and weight, and the cotton/poly blend means they won’t shrink in the wash (hypothetically, anyway). I really hope GORUCK partners with Combat Flip-Flops to product these again, and in more color combos—I’d certainly buy more!
