We’re nearing the end of the 2015 Christmas in July and GORUCK just decided to release a pre-sale on their Kid Rucks. These packs are currently available in sizes Small (4 y/o – 8 y/o) and Large (8 y/o – 12 y/o) and are meant for that elementary school child that may or may not be living in your house.
New Features
What makes these packs different from the normal GORUCK packs besides the size?
For starters the internal GORUCK label is on the opposite side and features a few lines for the child’s name. For safety reasons it is never a good idea to have the name of a child on the outside of their backpack but having it on the inside should be safe.
In edition there’s a patch panel on the inside of the pack so that your child can put up to six of their favorite rectangle patches on there. We recommend one of the many patches currently available in the ADR Shop except maybe not the Cadre Ed or Zero Given as those probably aren’t child appropriate.
Colors
The color combos are all fairly diverse with each having some form of non-black or accent color.
Black & Blue
Black & Blue packs are currently selling at $75 (Small) and $85 (Large) on the GORUCK website.
Blue & Silver
Blue & Silver packs are currently selling at $75 (Small) and $85 (Large) on the GORUCK website.
Grey & Red
Grey & Red packs are currently selling at $75 (Small) and $85 (Large) on the GORUCK website.
Pink & Black
Pink & Black packs are currently selling at $75 (Small) and $85 (Large) on the GORUCK website.
Warranty
According to GORUCK these packs are covered under the same Lifetime SCARS warranty that their normal rucks are covered under. This means short of your child coming to have a new favorite color this pack could last them their entire elementary school education. I don’t want to get all caught up in the moment here but the idea that a child could use a pack for school then pass it on to their child (assuming future children still need backpacks and school) is pretty cool to me.
It appears that these packs retail at $85 – $95 but are currently on sale due either the nature of the pre-order or the Christmas in July. Kid Rucks can be picked up now at the GORUCK website.
