The title says it all folks… the GORUCK GR3 is now available for presale. There’s a few exciting things happening (GORUCK Workshop) behind the scenes that I want to touch on towards the end which might actually be more exciting (for some) than the GR3.
GORUCK GR3 Presale
Here’s the link. The GR3 is available for presale with a shipping date in November. Why pre-order? by pre-ordering you’ll get to take advantage of a number of discounts and bonuses:
- XMAS in July $50 off $400
- $100 off retail pricing
- Ability to customize the ruck
- Discounted GR3 Tough Bag
- “GR3 First Run” internal label
- Free sternum strap
- Free GR3 leather patch
With all of those bonuses and incentives available exclusively to those who pre-order we highly recommend you get in on this pack if it is something you’re interested in. If you pre-order the GR3 while Christmas in July is still going on then you can get the pack for $354 (with the GR3 Tough Bag and all accessories) which would sell at retail for $539.
The GR3 is HUGE coming in at 45 liters. It features the same look that everyone has come to love from GORUCK packs but also sports side grab handles. With a pack this big it will be nice to have an extra location (or two) to grab it from.
The price is a little interesting coming in at $425 but if you pre-order you’ll get it for $325. One great addition is the ability to customize the ruck. If you would like MOLLE on the front and/or side grab handles you can add them on for an additional small fee. GORUCK has already stated that the ability to customize is a pre-order exclusive so don’t expect it to be available when the pack releases at the end of 2017.
GORUCK Workshop
The GR3 presale is the first time we’ve been introduced to GORUCK Workshop and preordering on their new website. This is exciting because we might finally get to see some of those custom colored rucks everyone has been asking for. Tiger Stripe, which the community has been demanding, could show up here… and if enough units are sold they’ll be made. We know GORUCK has been much more hesitant to dive into the “colored” ruck market after their first go-around. However, they have mentioned since then that they wanted to create a way for ruckers to pre-order custom colored rucks similar to the Mass Drop method where once enough are purchased the order is placed. We can only hope the future is bright and GORUCK allows customers to start customizing *cough* GR2 cinch straps *cough* a few of their other rucks. Hopefully GORUCK Workshop is that new platform and hopefully we can finally get Tiger Stripe!
By integrating this GORUCK should be closer to the “ask and we shall come” event approach they had mentioned in the past. The idea for that was if enough people in an area pre-registerd for an event GORUCK would create it and send cadre. Don’t have a Halloween event in your town but want one? Get your friends to sign up and GORUCK will make it happen.
Either way we are very excited to see what comes from GORUCK Workshop and have to say that GORUCK continues to surprise us!
