I did not expect to be writing this title today but here we are. All signs point to GORUCK discontinuing their Echo ruck. What are the signs you might ask?
All Echo colors left in stock are $100 off putting them at $195. Although not exactly “blowout” pricing it’s still a solid discount.
GORUCK has attempted to discontinue packs in the past. Most notably they announced they were discontinuing the GR2 34L. That decision was met with uproar and, if you visit the GR2 product page today, you’ll notice the 34L ruck is still available.
It’s worth noting that the Echo is a small pack. I’ve owned one for years and have used it zero times. My wife has used it on occasion (she’s not really a backpack person) but it just looks tiny on me. I am 6’2″ and I’ve heard people having success with the Echo at around the 5’8″ and shorter heights.
What are your thoughts on GORUCK discontinuing the Echo? Think they’ll replace it with something new or will the comparatively sized Bullet 15 (or possibly KR1) fill that void?
I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments! On a side note I guess this means I’ll eventually need to remove the Echo from the GORUCK Stock Tracker.
