Earlier this week GORUCK released a ton of new pockets and accessories (all in black) to complement their line of backpacks. While we don’t own any of these yet there are definitely a number of use-cases we can already envision for them. Have some ideas of your own? Please let us know in the comments!
Utility Side Pocket
When GORUCK changed the name for their Side Pocket to the Simple Side Pocket I knew something was up. I joked with a buddy that they were going to come out with the “Complex” Side Pocket and it turns out that wasn’t far from the truth. The outside of this pocket features a small opening while the inside has two interior pockets in addition to the empty space in the middle. This is an accessory that I’m fairly excited for because the Simple Side Pocket is something I already really liked.
Available now in Black for $39.
Tool Pouch
The new GORUCK Tool Pouch looks perfect for more than just tools. From what I’ve found there’s no perfect backpack that is the best for everything. I have my daily backpack, my hiking backpack, and my travel backpack, and in each backpack there’s always a few items I keep the same. No matter where I go I try to bring a pencil, pen, paper, small first aid kit, and a snack. This seems like a great pouch that can contain all of that and be dropped into and out of each of these packs. That way you don’t need to replicate all of those items across each one.
Available now in Black for $36.
Mini Wire Dopp
The Mini Wire Dopp is a welcome relief for anyone who doesn’t take their laptop with them everywhere. The Wire Dopp is huge and definitely fits everything… but sometimes you just need a cell phone charger, watch/FitBit charger, and backup battery. This dopp seems like the perfect solution for that use-case.
Available now in Black for $29.
Horizontal Ruck Pocket
Now this one is interesting… it basically turns your back webbing into one wide pocket. I’m really interested in seeing one of these in person because I want to see how much depth it adds to the pack and how it looks with items in it. The one thing I know I’m excited about for it is that it does an amazing job hiding the MOLLE on the back of the pack which will definitely be a plus for people who use their packs for business.
Available now in Black for $29.
Padded Ruck Belt
While I haven’t used the GORUCK ruck belt yet I hear they are good at stabilizing the pack. People seemed to be pretty excited about the padded version so I can’t wait until the reviews roll in.
Available now in Black for $39.
Vertical Phone Pouch
The horizontal belt phone pouch came out a week or two ago and the overall consensus was less than stellar. This type of phone pouch was what I was hoping for all along… one that would attach to the shoulder webbing and could potentially have multiple uses. While I’d need to see it in person first because I give any real feelings on it I can say that it’s not something I’m disgusted by.
Available now in Black for $25.

Aaahhh! I wanted to pick up some of those Utility Side Pouches but it looks like GORUCK is no longer selling them!
I wonder if they’re dumping them completely or just for the time being. They went really heavy on ruck accessories then slowly faded most of them away…
Good stuff, Brian! I really like these ruck accessories that GORUCK is producing. I like being able to customize my rucks and I want the most well-designed and durable products, so GORUCK is my #1 choice typically. I just picked up a pair of their Simple Pouches off ebay and I like them a lot, but I really like the look of those Utility Pouches too. I also have a Mini Wire Dopp that I use every day for work as well as for work travel and it work really well–organizes but doesn’t take up a lot of space. Finally, I recently bought a Vertical Phone Pouch and although I like it, it doesn’t quite fit my iPhone 6 Plus in my Magpul Field Case—perhaps it will take a bit of breaking in. ;-) I think I need to pick up one of those padded waist belts too. I used a makeshift waist belt in my first two Touch Challenges and they were indispensable for ruck PT!
