So here’s our exciting announcement for January which is something big that we’ve been planning for a few months now. From October through December we worked tirelessly with Mettle Forger to take the Pull-Up Challenge to the next level. This led to nearly 700 people signing up and over $9,000 being donated to the Green Beret Foundation and Team RWB.
The site that was built for the Pull-Up Challenge sucked. It worked, but was poorly coded (started and completed on a single flight from Seattle to Chicago) and had minimal features. Even though I didn’t do the best job on the site it did show us just how much opportunity there was for something like Charity Challenges.
What is Charity Challenges?
Charity Challenges is a collaboration between All Day Ruckoff and Mettle Forger that is designed to get people active, raise a ton of money for charity, and distribute some awesome limited edition patches.
The new site has the same ability to log your reps, view the leaderboard, and track your progress towards the three goals.
Next Event
The next event starts on February 1st, 2016 but sign-ups are open now (as of this post) and close on February 15th, 2016. The cost to enter is $20 ($35 for international) and you’ll get a patch just for signing up. If you reach any of the goals you’ll get the corresponding tab patch with the highest goal you met.
Even if you don’t met one of the goals you’ll still get the main patch AND the two chosen charities (Green Beret Foundation and Team RWB) will get a huge donation. Help make this event a huge success and sign up today!

I don’t know how the previous challenge’s website was, but the one for this current challenge is simple and works. I like it. Awesome idea by the way. That 30K tab will be mine.

The 30K tab will be mine as well! Glad you think the website is simple and works… I tried to make sure the essentials where available and easy to access.

I’d echo these comments–the site works quite well and makes it easy for me to log my reps every night before I go to sleep. The ability to delete an entry is essential–I screwed up more than one entry and this helped me sort it out!
Brian Lohr says
That ability is essential for me as well! I think I had to delete a few hundred entries for the Pull-Up Challenge so putting the burden on the user will save me hours over the event :)

I’m registered and squats are underway! Brian, this is a great fund-raising idea! Thanks for doing this!
Brian Lohr says
So glad to have you on board! It took a little while but I wanted to make sure it was done right. Can’t believe there are already almost 1,000 people signed up either!

My question would be how would we log the number we do? Is it an honor system kind of tally method?
Brian Lohr says
It’s definitely an honor system (because no one’s there to verify) but there is a logging system built into the Charity Challenges website. When the events over we’ll be sending out the tabs based on the quantities tracked on there.
