I cant believe we are nearing the end of the first month of 2021. It’s hard to believe it but January is almost over. With that in mind today seemed like the perfect day to talk about “what you get” if you register for GORUCK Tribe.
Why is today the perfect day? GORUCK released time sensitive details about Tribe in the past few weeks which might convince you to sign up in January instead of February. To get into the details we first need to cover how long GORUCK Tribe actually is. GORUCK Tribe cycles are 4 years in duration which are broken into yearly themes. Within each yearly theme are 12 monthly themes bringing the grand total to 52 themes over the course of a 4 year cycle. That’s 12 themes per year and 4 yearly themes per cycle. A whole bunch of themes.
GORUCK will send a patch in the mail to you for every month of Tribe you are registered for. That means if you are registered for all 48 months in a 4 year cycle then you will end up with a minimum of 48 GORUCK Tribe patches. You might think that is a lot of patches but wait… there’s more!
Those who complete all 12 months in a calendar year receive a special patch for that year. 2021 will be SEEK PAIN. Years 2-4 have not been and will not be released early.

If you complete every month in a calendar year you’ll receive a special patch for that year. That means if you’re registered for the full year you’ll end up with 13 patches instead of 12. Extending that out to the 4 year cycle puts you at 52 total patches. This post is time sensitive because you only have 7 days left (as of posting this) to get registered for the first month of GORUCK Tribe.
Now it’s entirely possible that GORUCK will ramp up their buy back program but if this was something I cared about then I wouldn’t put all my eggs in that basket. There’s no guarantee old patches will be available for purchase. With that in mind let’s get back to the patches!
Those who complete the full four year cycle will earn a limited edition piece of gear, and patch, that will never be for sale.

If you complete all 4 years within the GORUCK Tribe cycle then you’ll get a limited edition piece of gear and another patch that will never be for sale. This puts you at 53 total patches and a limited edition piece of gear. Ain’t that something. Maybe the limited edition piece of gear will be a custom patch board designed to hold all 53 of your patches?
Parting Thoughts
I’m just gonna say it… patches from virtual events are some of my least favorite patches. I don’t have the same memories with them as I do with my event patches. That being said the GORUCK Tribe program has been very interesting to follow. I’ve enjoyed the readings so far and it has been a great excuse to tackle the Robbie Miller WOD. I’m very curious what the limited edition piece of gear will be and the fact that Tribe is available for $5 a month to GORUCK SRT participants was enough to get me to register.
