If you’re interested in taking part in this event you can join the Facebook Group as all of the details relating to the event and how to get the patch are posted there.
Those who are GORUCK Tough (GRT) know that there are fun events all the time to partake in. One of my favorite is the 10,000 Push Up Challenge. The challenge is exactly what it sounds like… you need to complete 10,000 push ups. That wouldn’t be too bad if you had more than 30 days to do it in… that’s right… 10,000 push ups in one month. I’ve completed this challenge twice already (usually do it in January) but now there’s an “official” patch for it. That got me thinking what better time to attempt the challenge again than now? If you’re interested you can join the challenge on Facebook and track your progress. On average you need to complete 334 push ups per day which is fairly doable.
Updates
What would a challenge be without updating progress? I’ve created a fancy little chart in my Field Notes notebook where each box is 50 push ups. I track by 50 because I always do at least 50 push ups when I go down to do them so it seemed like a good amount. I’ll update sometimes and that will be enough or too much or not…
9/18/2013 (Day 3)
After 3 days I’ve finished up the first row. This means I’m a little behind schedule but nothing I can’t make up tonight.
9/26/2013 (Day 11)
Second update and I’ve been sick for the past 5 days. I tried not to let that get me down but clearly I’m not as far along as I should be. Hoping to have 3,000 down by the end up day 12.
10/6/2013 (Day 21)
Between the week long sickness and the marathon I’m a bit behind schedule. No need to fear though I’m going to push through this and finish the 10,000 push ups.
10/15/2013 (Day 30)
Done! I did so many push ups on this day to make up for the marathon and my week long sickness but it was well worth it. I’m proud to say that I finished the 10,000 Push Up Challenge yet again and this time will be sending in for my patch.
