Quality

After using for the Brute Force Athlete Sandbag for countless training sessions over the course of thirteen months it is safe to say it is quality. Throughout the months the sandbag has lost little to no sand based on weights taken.

The sewing throughout the sandbag is perfect with no frayed or loose threads found anywhere.

There were none when it showed up…

…and there is only one now thirteen months later.

Everything is over-stitched to ensure that the sandbag can take all the abuse.

I was by no means easy on this bag and it still looks fairly new. The above picture shows the bag when I first got it and again after hundreds of uses thirteen months later.

Even the filler bags are works of art. Sand is tiny… that’s a fact.

And based on that fact is truly incredible that over thirteen months the sandbag did not lose any noticeable weight.

Clearly some sand has escaped but it is much less that one would expect.

It has been about six months since I have opened the sandbag and the above amount of sand was all that had leaked out.

I knew that Brute Force had a great reputation but I was still beyond impressed with the quality.

Design

The Brute Force Athlete Sandbag is made of 1000d Cordura to ensure it will last.

The bag features four sets of handles (eight total) placed in all of the right spots.

There is one handle on each end…

Two horizontal across the length…

Two vertical across the length…

And two vertical across the width.

There is a zipper that runs the length of the sandbag with a “zipper pouch” on the closed end.

The filler bags have a secure Velcro closure to ensure no sand falls out.

They also have a bright stitch so that you know how much sand to fill in each.

Usability

The Brute Force Athlete Sandbag is very easy to use. With the four sets of handles there is no shortage of places to grab for exercises.

The Athlete sandbag is designed to work best with 25 lbs to 75 lbs of sand. Those weights allow you to get a solid workout with almost any exercise. The two exercises you might want more weight for are dead lifts and squats however I have heard you can put a little extra weight in these bags.

The design of the “zipper pouch” is great because it allows you to workout without the zipper digging into you.

The zipper fits snug and has yet to come out during a workout.

Brute Force also has both Android and Apple applications available which features daily sandbag workouts for free. These workouts are awesome and provide great ideas for you to create your own sandbag workouts.

Value

At a price-point of $129.95 the Brute Force Athlete Sandbag is not cheap. It comes with two filler bags (50 lb and 30 lb) and has a limited lifetime warranty. In addition, it is made in the USA and has a 30 day money back guarantee.

The limited lifetime warranty covers normal wear and tear but does not include sandbag slamming or sandbag drags. If you are going to drag your sandbag it’s recommended that you do so on a mat so that there’s minimal wear and tear.

Availability

The Brute Force Athlete Sandbag is available in numerous colors on the Brute Force website and on Amazon.
