Buying GORUCK Packs Internationally

GORUCK switched their distribution method so that they are no longer processing orders out of the Seattle warehouse. Instead, they are using the third-party shipper Newgistics for all of their warehousing and shipping needs. This has definitely taken a lot of the burden off of GORUCK and made it so that they can focus on their core competencies: ruck events and gear.

When they made the change to Newgistics that meant they had to deal with the shipping rates that Newgistics hands out. It appears it’s not too bad for domestic… as you can see above we can have a GR1 shipped to ADR HQ for $0 if we’re willing to wait. The other shipping methods are a bit pricey but they’re a luxury and it’s great to have that $0 option.

Canada is an hour and a half drive north of us and their shipping rate (which includes duties and taxes) is nearing $150… which is roughly half the price of the GORUCK GR1.

Want to save some money and split the shipping with a friend? If you’re going to ship two rucks to Canada that borders on $250… which is a savings of $50 but still a lot of money.

Now the thing about GORUCK is that they don’t have any retail stores or foreign distribution centers which is why most people assume they have to buy direct. What many people don’t know is that there are a few pieces of GORUCK gear for sale on Huckberry… which is a well established website who have run numerous promotions with GORUCK.

Huckberry also ships internationally… and wait for it… has a free shipping promotion for $198+! That means you’re stuck with taxes and duties, probably VAT (if you live over there) but that’s it. As the caporal-chef put it this is “(a) far cry from the 144 bucks goruck was going to charge me for shipping.”

At a fellow users suggestion, I was able to get a 26L gr1 without needing to take out a loan for shipping. All in all, I paid ~$265 usd with a 10% off code plus free shipping to Canada. Customs fee came out to 43 usd. A far cry from the 144 bucks goruck was going to charge me for shipping. So non US residents looking for 21L or 26L gr1, look no further than huckberry.com. No word as to whether they’ll ever carry any of the other models like gr2, or accessories like waist belt, sternum strap, or plates.

We’d like to thank /u/caporal-chef for putting a post together on /r/goruck about this. If you found this useful please go up-vote the thread and give caporal-chef all the internet points they deserve. We knew about Huckberry as a place to source GORUCK gear but never realized how truly expensive GORUCK’s international shipping was until they posted about it. Hopefully if you’re an international reader you will find this post useful and can save some money on shipping which can, of course, be spent on more gear further down the road!
