As many of you know I was down in San Diego for ABSOC 001. The event was much tougher than I expected which made it quite the memorable event. I definitely learned something about myself that night which was exciting. Two things I should mention: 1) This is not my AAR… that will be coming soon and 2) All of the pictures in this post were shot by the very talented GORUCK Selection finisher David Thomas. I can’t talk enough about what a great person he is… I’m truly glad to call him my friend.
Anyways, ABSOC 001 is over and the pictures have come out… so that brings the question what’s next for the line of ABSOC events? GORUCK made some updates on their events page recently which included a few ABSOC events around the country.

- Light: 3/1/2014
- ABSOC 002: Virginia Beach, VA (ABSOC East)
- ABSOC 003: Seattle, WA (ABSOC Northwest)
- ABSOC 004: ???
- ABOSC 005: San Diego, CA 2015?
I’m really excited that GORUCK is pursuing this line of events. It was a blast doing a Challenge with 5 Cadre… all of whom definitely brought something different to the table. There were some very unique aspects of the event (like we carried boats the entire time) which I’m excited to see if they continue on to the other locations. I’m already registered for the Northwest events so that I can have one of the special Light patches.
